December 1, 2020 - Post Wimborne. Air in vial. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of chocolate, earth soil, leather, dark plums, dark red cherries, woody spices. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high aciidty, medium+ alcohol, velvety lush high tannins that grip towards the end, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, dark red plums, fresh leather, mint leaf, sweet woody spices, earthy mineral background. Long structured grippy finish.
Very good quality. Brunello worthy of at least a few more 3-4 years of ageing.

August 19, 2020 - Incredible nose, smooth and elegant, with beautiful red fruits, iron, and spice. The wine really opened up after an hour of decanting. Dry, soft tannins, with a lot of minerals combined with red and stone fruits on the palate. Beautiful hawthorn finish.

Day 2: the wine has gone full-bodied, the spice component is much more obvious now. Beautiful structure, with big strawberries and raspberries taking over the palate.

This wine is drinking beautifully at 7 years old, but I can’t wait to taste it again in 5 years, I imagine it will improve further from here.

September 17, 2018 - a beauty- elegance and restraint. hints of iron and spice on the nose with cherry tones, bright mid, light but with a core of mineral and silky tannin. cherry dominates, but the spices and floral notes are there as well. while this needs time - its is a wonderful example of Brunello

January 29, 2018 - A Season of Change: 2013 Brunello di Montalcino: The nose was wonderfully fresh yet intense, showing crushed strawberry and raspberry with dusty dry soil tones, fall leaves and hints of spice. On the palate, I found velvety textures which were perfectly balanced by a wave of fresh acidity, as dark red fruits and spice nearly enveloped the wine’s fine tannic structure–nearly. The long finish showcased classic tannin with notes of dried cherry, plum, sweet spice and earth tones.
