June 16, 2023 - This wine is now over the top - at least one of the two bottles we opened was. Recommendation to empty your cellars on this vintage asap.

November 14, 2020 - You cannot go wrong with a Mauro - quality is very stable throughout vintages and this one is ready to be served during the next two years. But don't expect any complexity - that is reserved for its bigger brother Mauro VS.
Interesting secondary notes from the barrels - vanilla. Also some bacon notes on the palate. Tannins are well worked into the wine and are not too dominant. Length is medium.
Perfect wine paired to a solid home made veal roast with potatoes, a Riesling soup and and and
Mauro is there for you and your guests throughout the night.

July 11, 2020 - This is lovely especially with slow roast lamb shoulder.
90% Tempranillo & 10% Syrah from just outside the Ribera del Douro denominación so a VdlT (Vino de la Tierra).
Loads of roast black fruits; plum, blackberry, cherry and damson with sweet vanilla from French and American oak giving a lovely incense note. Quite full bodied, just medium (+) acidity, great intensity and a lovely long finish.

February 26, 2020 - A nice bottle of wine, highly drinkable. Still lots of tannins so will leave the rest of the case for a couple of years.
