March 19, 2021 - Great drinking window. Beautiful nose of violet, dark fruit, cedar and allspice. Smooth tannin kept the components nicely wound together.

November 28, 2019 - Winemaker Melka second wine is a dark medium to full body blend of 82% CS/12% CF/ 6% PV. It’s well balanced Bordeaux style has notes of cherry and spice. Smooth wine that’s ready to drink with a min 90 minute decant.

June 21, 2017 - Really well balanced wine. Dark berry and vanilla on the nose. Medium tannins and very good finish. Opened up well early and got better during the meal.

February 12, 2017 - Needs some time, but excellent now with air.

December 16, 2016 - Deep ruby with dark staining legs. Surprisingly reserved, developing aromas of blackberry, black currant, pencil lead, black licorice, and wet stone. After a 30 minute decant, the fruit is still very closed on the palate and overwhelmed by the medium plus acidity and high, not quite yet integrated, tannins. Seems spicy and hot, but could just be the fact that it needs considerable more air and/or time in the bottle. Massive backbone there. Probably going to be very good, but I would lay this down for another couple of years. (Possibly 91-93 pts)

July 12, 2016 - Napa Visit 2016; 7/10/2016-7/13/2016: 2013 Brio - 90 min decant - pencil shavings, minerals, faint mocha. Some black cherry hiding. Great structure with potential but not alot of fruit showing just yet. Needs 3-5 years, if not more. 93 pts

June 18, 2016 - Nice surprise to try at the Oakton Wine Shop. Dark ruby red. Attack of dark fruits and spices. Heavy tannins (8/10) with a full body and long finish. So young. Drink till 2030.

March 28, 2016 - Disjointed at the moment needing time to come together. PnP is hard to drink with the combination of oak, tannin and lack of integration. Some air makes it better, and you can tell it has some potential with aging. No rating right now -- too early. Seems like maybe 91-93 in the future.
