January 22, 2024 - A 30-minute decant will go a long way to making this show at its best. I’d imagine a longer decant wouldn’t do it any harm. A brooding Chianti: iron shavings, blood, blackberries and leather. A wine for a cold winter’s meal in front of a fire.

October 9, 2023 - This was my last bottle and it was time to enjoy it. Fruit fading but nice tertiary notes emerging after 90 minutes of air. Not a complex or contemplative wine but very satisfying

January 9, 2023 - Consistent notes but now see a shorter optimal drinking window of 1-2 years. Drinking so nicely now and not sure it will improve further

December 18, 2022 - Good wine but not a good food match tonight. We don’t eat a lot of meat, but this wine is diminished without it. Oozes the essence of Chianti, with spice, salty minerality, tart fruit and puckering acidity. As enjoyable and impressive as I found it, I did the wine a disservice by not putting it with the food it needs to shine.
