Community Tasting Notes 5

  • Elycohn Likes this wine: 88 points

May 6, 2018 - Bright red plum and raspberry aromas. Salty palate with gravely minerals and red fruit. Elegant and feminine with a deliberate delicacy favoring minerals, florals, and bright red fruit.

  • Elycohn Likes this wine: 91 points

December 19, 2017 - Translucent ruby red. Delicate aromas of minerals, cherry, and strawberry. Flavors of earth and fruit - more raspberry, strawberry, and sour plum with strong mineral finish and backdrop of sage and thyme. Lean, pure, and expressive.

February 22, 2017 - light in color, not too revealing on the nose but reveals some red fruit and wet river rock and some smokiness. Medium acid and slightly tannic with bell pepper and cherries on the palate and perhaps some dried bay leaf mixed in.

  • Chemming Likes this wine: 89 points

January 8, 2017 - Really liked this lighter style can franc from Loire. Need to buy more. IdeL daily wine+.

February 28, 2016 - Noticeably clear to the eye in comparison to previous vintages. Nice light fresh nose showing forward fruit and a nice charcoal like character. Light bodied palate with a touch of tannin and a fresh feel. There is clearly very low fruit concentration here showing the vintage pedigree such as it is. So light is this that it is actually lighter than their lowest level bottling, Cuvee Terroir, normally is. Considering the vintage this is would be a decent dinner companion for $10. But I am shocked they didn't declassify the fruit further and pass on the bottling for the year. They obviously did lots of selection to get a palatable wine but it pales in comparison to previous vintages in a big way.
