November 16, 2023 - More alive than I would have guessed, but not sure it's on a track to improve much. Vanilla, dark red & black fruits, a bit of clove/vanilla bean/cacao show themselves throughout. Med+ body, med acid & tannin only slightly notable. Feels like one to drink up, but still very good
December 25, 2021 - I have always enjoyed Mountain Cuvée but usually drink them a little younger. In reading sim of the recent reviews I was expecting the worst.
The wine opened up beautifully. Balanced and medium body.
Enjoyable as always.
July 25, 2021 - No length or real character. Good last bottle or for guests who don't know wine. Grade of B-
Properly stored. EDIT. I was a little harsh, the second night this was better. Grade of B almost B+
July 8, 2020 - Bordeaux blend with 40% Merlot and 34% cab. Fruit-forward with mocha, strong vanilla notes. Not much in the way of tannins but still an enjoyable wine. Well worth the under $30 price.
April 25, 2020 - Might be giving this bad boy/girl benefit of doubt, but enjoyed the dark blue/black berry fruited liqueur and white-chocolate-vanilla top notes. She was a bit spicy, rough-edged and hot, but sometimes we like them like this.
April 21, 2019 - Delicious well aged wine.
March 5, 2019 - Definitely peaking. Has moved into tertiary mode - nose reminded us of a Zinfandel dessert wine we recently sampled. Stewed and dried dark red fruits. Still some tannic structure and tangible acidity. Good length and some complexity. Drink up.
November 30, 2018 - Great Bordeaux blend.
June 3, 2018 - good color. not as good as expected. little fruit. drinkable but not memorable.
December 31, 2017 - This is a medium dark purple colored wine with medium clarity. Complex nose of cherry, cedar and pine and a hint of cocoa. Smooth and dry with nice tannin. Cherry flavor with some floral notes.
