April 13, 2022 - Dark as a moonless night. Deals in black. Breathes up black olives and exotic spice elements. Lively blackberry juice, black licorice and black olive flavors. Balanced tannins, acids and a huge core of fruit. Drink now or for five years and don’t bet against eight. Exceptional American Syrah. 93

December 10, 2021 - A very interesting wine. Red plum color, Forest floor, herbal aromas. A very subtle hit of dark fruit on the tip of the tongue, Then, there is noticeable salinity, The wine is only very lightly acidic, but the surpising sensation that I get suggest citrus zest. That seemed very unusual. Earthiness or herbalness under the rear palate, Very different from other examples from this vineyard,

September 3, 2020 - 3 year check in. 13.5% abv. Clear dark plum color, magenta rim. Northern Rhône nose - floral, smoky berries, vegetable garden. Med plus mouth, light acidic lift mid palate, ample tannins frame blue and black berry fruit, charred meat, pipe tobacco, good minerality, finishes quite dry not sweet. Ready to drink with short decant.

August 23, 2020 - A fruit forward wine made from a cool climate site. Clearly picked a few weeks later than the Halcon wines. Defined by blackberry, blueberry, hints of lavender, white pepper and a bit of iron. The savory components are most pronounced on the finish: roast meats, bacon fat.

February 3, 2020 - Nose of blackberry, metal, wet rock....
Big dark fruit of black and blueberry combo,
There’s a meatiness note with drying tannins to wrap the fruit coating your tongue..
It’s my last bottle but I would love to be able to try this in 5 years..
    Very good QPR
