May 30, 2020 - Drinking well, a very good Cab but it doesn't have the Napa style taste profile

September 4, 2016 - To me, it doesn't matter if you have a single varietal or 5 varietals woven together, for a wine to be excellent, you have to have great grapes and winemaking skills. What is evident with this 2014 Intreccio from Sequel Vineyards is the expertise and passion the winemakers have brought to some truly fantastic grapes.
I was given tastes of this wine out of the fine French barrels chosen by the winemakers as it was was aging and saw how it changed over the months prior to bottling. I then had it at a release party and have subsequently had one of my bottles on its own. Each and every time, it has been "Delicioso!".
Some technical notes: 18 months in barrels, 20% of each of the 5 varietals in the blend, French Troncais & Jupilles barrels with 75% new, 25% 2-years old, and the 5 varietals from Napa2 people found this helpful Comment -

September 2, 2016 - I opened a bottle to celebrate a long week- this is just a mastery of blending in a Bordeaux style. The subtle flavors of blackberry, vanilla, cranberry, citrus, and baking spices confound me. There's a lot going on here- I'm glad I have 5 more to savor.
This is the highest rating I've given a wine thus far. Buy some if you can.1 person found this helpful Comment -

June 25, 2016 - Italian for "the weave" this wine is a blend of 5 grapes: cab sauv, petite verdot, merlot, malbec, and can franc. Wine has a beautiful inky purple hue to it, which reminded me of the great Bordeaux I have had. A very good nod to the region.
On the nose, a bit deceptive of a high alcohol wiff, but lots of fruit and leathery tannins. The taste is very different than the smell- very approachable and full bodied with plenty of fruit, this wine will stand the test of time. The wine has a very balanced acidity that I think will last for another 10-20 years (if you're that patient!). Enjoy with game meats or steak.1 person found this helpful Comment
