September 16, 2021 - opened for 2 hours, decanted 2 hours more, consumed over 3. tonight's bottle required all the air it was provided; showing even more complete than one about a year ago, lovely elegant aromatics, warmly fruited, balanced, tannins in check. near peak for me.

pork loin chop, tomato chutney glaze; creamy butterbeans & bi-color corn

July 17, 2021 - Sat in a wide-bottom decanter for 5 hrs before tasting. Just starting to get going, but pitch perfect density and weight with an amazingly classic nose: blood orange peel, wild strawberry/blackberry and herbs. Still very dense, but very refined tannin on the finish. Fantasric acidity, and fruit on the palate. Wow.

June 10, 2021 - 12 hours of slox-ox upon serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale ruby to the eyes with fine deposits.

A lot of white and tarry spices. Red cherry and strawberry fruits.

More of a ideal forward style here. Consistent with this vineyard tasted previously.

    94-95 points.

May 9, 2021 - Mothers' Day Dinner (The Consevatory, Crown Wine Cellars, 18 Deep Water Bay Drive, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong): 6-hour decant (which was about right...if maybe a bit short). Lighter than the 1999 Conterno. Translucent red cherry colour. Lovely lifted and accessible strawberry and raspberry with a hint of smoke and asphalt. Palate is tart but accessible tannin, quite drying in the mouth, lovely rich black and red cherry fruit, almost a Merlot softness, all very primary but accessible, Needs another 5-10 years to unveil. Personally, I preferred the 1999 Conterno tonight. Interestingly we did the same duo on New Years Eve in 2018. This is a Hill of Grace compared to the Conterno’s Grange.

May 7, 2021 - Goodbye Dinner for a Friend Moving to Willamette (Osteria Langhe - Chicago IL): Red cherry and earth with woodsy spice. Very good balance, good weight and length. Drink now. I certainly enjoyed this, but others liked it more.
