December 16, 2019 - Rich and full bodied with moderate agressive tannins that certainly melllowed after being open two hours. Likely will continue to improve with time.
August 28, 2019 - drank over three days. medium to full body. tannin still a bit hot, nice dark fruit without oak. tannin still a bit overbearing even on day three. good value, hold for another year or two if you like.
December 15, 2018 - Very nice. Has benefitted from cellaring now being much better 18 months later. Recommended
November 9, 2018 - drinking beautifully now. Powerful but not overwhelming. Not hot despite the alcohol of 14.5%.
Balanced in a new-world way. Well-structured, lovely texture, with a good finish. Excellent value again.
January 17, 2018 - 48% Syrah
24% Carmenere
11% Merlot
10% Cabernet Sauvignon
3% Mourvedre
3% Malbec
1% Petit Verdot
Verdict: A rich cuvee with huge characteristics of Carmenere, subtly balanced by the darkfruits from Syrah, toned down spice and dark chocolate from the oak. Darkfruits and currant on palate. Fine tannins. Medium finishing. Medium full-bodied. Perhaps I'd give a higher score if it was given a longer breathing duration.
January 17, 2018 - Drinking very well. Seriously good QPR.
December 16, 2017 - Dark burgundy purplish colour. Mild smokey peppery aroma. Fairly flat and sweet taste with little acidity or tannins. Dried fruit and pepper taste with little aftertaste. Paired very well with grilled andouille sausage and roasted squash.
November 7, 2017 - An interesting syrah based mixture from Chile. Apparently a Suckling 95 pointer. Good fruit but really rough around the edges. May improve with time. Only 88 pts for me.
August 6, 2017 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and oak. It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune, oak and black pepper. The body is full. The wine has coarse texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.
June 25, 2017 - XDry, Med- acidity. Med tannin. Med body. Med finish
14.5% abv. 39% syrah, 32% carmenere, 17% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% mourvedre, 1% Malbec. Deep reddish purple. Nose a bit muted at first, needs time to open, but once it does I get medium intensity aromas of dark fruit (blueberry/blackcurrant), nuts, vanilla, hint of mint/herb (cilantro), spice. Palate was medium bodied with fine grained tannins and flavours of dark fruits and spice. Good lengthed finish.
This is a great wine on the nose. Palate didn't seem as complex.
