  September 28, 2020 - Rich and polished with soft, sweet tannins. The wine is mature and confident showing beautiful layers of blue and dark red fruits, graphite, cedar and earth. Very charming aromas of vintage leather, menthol and mocha. Mostly classic Napa with some aged Bordeaux character. This finished just a touch dry, so may be time to start drinking up over the next few years. Comfort wine, a fabulous fireplace bottle to share over conversation with great company.

  April 1, 2017 - Very herbal, with a characteristic green streak superimposed over mature, earth-driven flavors. Medium bodied and a somewhat aggressive, grainy tannin to the finish. A very good, classically-styled Napa cab, but I expected a bit more.

  April 1, 2017 - HDH Burgundy Auction (Chicago, IL): My understanding is that this was the first ever California Parker 100. I have a serious hard time thinking that Parker would give this anything remotely close to that score anymore. The nose is profoundly herbal (and the palate too). Not heavy on the palate, this has plenty of lovely cabernet character. Softer tannins, and very good density. Earthy, but a nice touch of fruit as well. Brilliant, but perfect?
