July 21, 2020 - This was a beautiful wine. I was debating on purchasing the 2013 vs the 2016 because recent reviews had said the 2013 was losing its charm. I chose the 2013 and so glad I did. This was a beautiful bottle with very smooth and balanced sweet and tannins and opened up to a nice silky/slightly chalky palate. I would buy this again for sure, even at the $60+ price point. I've always had the conception of merlot being a fruit-bomb-y fad of a varietal but this makes me re-think that idea. I think it would appease both particular and non-particular palates. Well done.

July 20, 2020 - Brilliant! Rich, deep, lush, great nose, fruit layers, integrated soft tannins that linger.

March 27, 2020 - 3.5hr decant; better on night 1 than 3. Black fruits with charcoal & spice. Huge structured wine, reminiscent of a bdx blend, certainly not just merlot. I believe I've had every vintage so far up thru this one, and strangely the even years have all crushed it ... while the odd-year vintages didn't quite have everything together for me. 92-90

March 12, 2020 - I think this is an example of a wine that was very good a few years ago but has wilted and fallen apart. The red and blue fruits have vanished along with the tannins. It is not off putting in any way, but exhibits a bit of heat, and a bland plummy jam component and an abrupt finish. RIP.

March 6, 2020 - Decanted 1/2 hr. Nice nose. Consistent, lively, smooth tastes of darker fruits. Nice finish.
