October 13, 2019 - Decanted at 5pm and tasted throughout the evening. Similar to the previous bottle. Light to medium ruby. Nose has peppery spices, pomegranate and minerals. Palate reflects the nose with a lean sense about it and a relatively short and shallow finish. Pleasant but not impressive.

September 6, 2019 - Blind Tasting at Jim and Stacia’s (New Jersey, USA): Decanted for about an hour for aeration before pouring back into bottle for trip to tasting. Served double blind to 8 guests. Translucent medium ruby color. Fragrant, floral nose with roses, vanilla, cherry and lavender. Palate is somewhat textured with medium acidity and medium- tannin. Flavors express red fruit like cherries, raspberry and strawberry then some anise and herbal, savory notes on the finish including some tarragon. Balanced and restrained New World Pinot.

Most of the 8 people at the tasting chose this as a Burgundy.

August 3, 2019 - PnP. Medium deep ruby. Intriguing nose of dark fruits and spice. Lovely long finish which is spice and acid driven (whole clusters?) on the palate preceded by medium weight dark fruits black cherry, blackberry. The acid fruit balance is unusual and the finish is really driven by what I think is whole cluster effect. Fascinating wine. Drinking well but not at all delicate; given the balance can certainly go for a few more years.

July 28, 2019 - This is every bit as awesome as people are saying. Great drinking window right now and just delicious with or without food. I paired it with watermelon sauced baby back pork ribs and it was amazing.
