June 19, 2023 - Light lemon color. Complex on the nose with mineral, petrol, red and white fruit, cream, and cotton candy notes. Full bodied and silky on the palate with great balance of acid and sweet.

March 8, 2016 - Seepage and a crumbly cork under the capsule, but thankfully the wine was fine. Golden in color, but no sign of oxidation. Very cool and unexpected note of tea on the nose. Peach and apple dessert on the palate. Sweet - like an auslese if I didn't know better. Enough acidity to keep this pretty fresh and bright, but two glasses was my fill.

November 29, 2015 - More advanced apple cider and honey notes, acidity is out of whack, not exhibiting the balance previous bottles showed.

June 26, 2015 - Rich gold in the glass. Red apple, white flower honey on the nose. Very rich mouthfeel. Honeyed apple and hint of mineral on the palate. Acidity is a bit low -- probably due to age -- but definitely not flabby. Spicy food is its friend.

(Wegeler Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Spatlese) Powerfully decadent wine yet closed aromatically. Holding alot in reserve it seems on the nose and pretty shy on the palate at this point in its evolution. It is enormously concentrated and ripe but is so backwards almost seems dry. Great material though.

(Wegeler Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Spatlese) Fantastic wine and it seems these wines are starting to come out of bottle shock. Nose of blue slate, white peach, whipped cream, wet stones and apricots. Powerful palate yet refined and elegant along with opulence and concentration. Exceptionally ripe and concentrated with a lovely purity and palate staining finish. A great '05.
