March 21, 2021 - Deep garnet in color. Nose of cherry, stone, and forest floor. Second nose opens up with more of the same. Flavor of red fruit that is acidic and dry on entry. Flavor builds throughout the palate and lingers. Delicate but flavorful. Still has a good amount of tanins to it.

September 8, 2019 - Etihad & Lufthansa - flights & lounges; 9/8/2019-9/14/2019 (Sydney, Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt, Berlin): Somewhat evolved. Still, liquorice and blackcurrant quite primary, on the nose. Lots of chocolate-coated currants too. Actually very inviting. Palate has a bit of tobacco, twig, cigar-box; ticks lots of the boxes but also has a slightly thin, stretched character to it. It never quite veers into green, but there’s a touch of dilution about it. The nose is better than the palate, by a degree of magnitude. Seems to rely a bit on oak for the nose, and that doesn’t really work on the palate. Drink til 2022; there’s surely nothing after that. (Etihad EY451 First Class: Sydney-Abu Dhabi)

May 24, 2019 - From memory. Standard St Emillion nose, strawberry, cassis, leather. Classic and full on the palette, nice length. Uncomplicated. Nothing really stuck in my mind to define it. Will probably be more memorable in 10 yrs.

November 28, 2017 - Revisited one year later .... much better than last year, that's for sure.

Great color, lots of red fruits in nose, more dark fruits in mouth.
Hints of coco ( dark chocolate ), some nutmeg and licorice.
To be enjoyed now, but it needs just a little of decanting to really enjoy.

November 20, 2017 - Djupt röd färg. Doft av grön paprika, röda plommon, hallon, ceder och örter. Fylligt vin med smak av lakrits, vanilj och ceder. Välbalanserad strävhet och syra. Lång eftersmak.

November 15, 2017 - Chateau Figeac Dinner with Frederic Faye (Farr Vintners London): Lovely early drinking Bordeaux - great nose here with a solid palate (although not up to the nose) to follow through. Slightly preferred this over the 2014 Petit Figeac side by side.

October 11, 2017 - The Grand Tour - day ten (Bordeaux): Plummy and spicy, red berry, liquorice, slightly dusty almost Indian spice notes. Very soft. The merlot is less prevalent on the palate though - red berry is more in balance in the plum Tannins are fine and soft. Medium plus length. Nice if not a little dull.

September 20, 2017 - Académie des Cinquante Bordeaux visit; 9/20/2017-9/23/2017: Fresh and transparent, classic and relatively slender style, quite overtly oaky, Cabernets very much to the fore, violets, the phenols seem a bit drying, pure flavours but also a hint of greenness, good length. Needs two years, but will never be a great wine.
