    July 6, 2020 - Youthful, tannic, and muscular reminiscent of its northern cousin, Barolo. Needed 4+ hours of air to come around. Bright, earthy tones of leather, flowers, spice box, and menthol harmonized around a juicy core of plump, red cherries. It is still tightly wound but impressive structure, depth, and complexity suggest this will provide maximum drinking pleasure in another 5-7 years. I wouldn’t touch it again until then.

    June 10, 2020 - 1st of 6 bottles, consumed over 2 nights.
    A bit too much wood on the sour cherry palate, with prevalent tannins and a note of anise and spicy tobacco leaf.
    Fairly long and slightly forced finish of confectured sour cherry fruit, with a hint of pepper, anise, and perhaps road tar.
    Very, very good Barbaresco, just missing "that something" which pulls it all together in the end. Drink now through 2026+.

    September 25, 2019 - Clear ruby color. Funky cherry and alcohol aromas. Cherry and cranberry flavors with lots of heat. Medium light body with lengthy finish. Best with food.

    September 3, 2019 - Would score higher but for the distractingly high alcohol level creating both a hint of heat and an element of unwanted alcohol “flavor”. Otherwise there’s a quite pleasant, if unexceptional, Barbaresco here, with bright cherry, tar, pleasing acidity and a hint of menthol. The alcohol isn’t a complete disaster, but it’s enough to keep the wine firmly in the “just ok” zone, and at a stated level of 14.5%, I’m surprised there’s been no mention of it in prior notes here.

    November 13, 2018 - Round and almost bready with just a hint of background acids to keep it interesting. This wine has evolved nicely and will be a good accompaniment to a wide range of meats such as grilled pork chops or lamb. Some browning around the rim, bright floral nose. Hint of mushroom on the palate but otherwise medium bodied red fruits. Balanced long finish. Maybe even a 90? Will wait until the next bottle to decide.....

    June 4, 2018 - Very transparent red. Gobs of strawberry aromas, starting with the cork! Very young, with the fruit transcending the stiff tannins. Needs time.

    February 2, 2018 - A nice light/middle weight Barbaresco with decent fruit, acids and structure to make a nice accompaniment to our Italian meatballs. Many here suggest cellaring this wine for a lot longer (I still have 5 bottles so I undoubtedly will) but it was drinking nicely all the same.
