July 20, 2019 - Purchased at Domaine and stored in cold Swedish cellar averaging 5 C temperature thru year. Green tinge with daffodil and crisp golden delicious nose consistent with its ethereal feminine palate. This larger than life Chevalier proudly wears the royal pedigree of the ancestors-if not for cost this would surely be the house wine of any who read these notes. Big structured lemon stone palate finishing lighter than the 2008 and 2010, but not by much.

June 14, 2019 - Burgundy Dinner with Friends: Steely and stony, with a touch of ripe pear and juicy lychee on the finish. This wine seems like it will go the distance, so drink or hold as you prefer.

  • MattMauldin Likes this wine:

May 15, 2019 - France and Italy - May 6 to May 10, 2019: Exotic mineral aromas - decomposed stone, honeysuckle, perfumy florals, stone fruit, hints of citrus. Deep and rich weight. Very complex. Dense and tight - big structure. Shows plenty of fruit and secondary complexity. The core is tight, but there's so much there. Expansive finish. Needs time.

December 20, 2018 - Ripe and rich with tropical fruit, stone and oak. Creamy mouthfeel but lacking the 14 acidity. Too forward for a 14. But it had grand cru weight and intensity.

    April 9, 2018 - Floral, substantive.
