March 29, 2017 - Not sure if the bottle was off. Not an acid bomb, but I can't taste much else besides the acidity

    March 20, 2017 - Good Dark Colour,

This has a jammy nose of balckberry and strawberry, with a relatively light (considering the grapes) palate of rich fruit, lots of dark jams and balancing structure. Easy to drink and ready to roll with heavier fare. Drink now, not built to age.

June 10, 2016 - Bodegas Juan Gil; 6/6/2016-6/10/2016 (Spain): 2015 was a tough, rainy vintage, 50% Carignane, 25% Garnacha, 25% Syrah, 4m in oak, none new. Oldest vines at the estate are 18 years, plum, kernel and more oak to the nose.

February 28, 2016 - Vanille et framboise démontrant un vin bien fruité. Encore bien jeune. profiterait de 2 a 3 ans pour venir à maturité.

October 24, 2015 - A youthful blend of 50% Mazuelo (Carignan), 25% Syrah and 25% Grenache. The color is medium (+) ruby. The nose is clean, youthful, with aromas of red fruit, a green, vegetal component, and burnt, wood smoke. The palate is dry, but with more fruit than the nose. Medium (+) acidity and tannins. The alcohol is medium at 13.5%. The mouthfeel is a little thin and astringent, with a short, licorice finish. I think the wine may benefit from some more aging for its components to mellow out and become better integrated. Mostly, however, I've realized that I am not a fan of Carignane.
