August 25, 2020 - Bretty notes, not enough to ruin the wine but enough to be noticeable. Not rated.

June 9, 2020 - Delicious Cali Cab! A great balance between fruit and freshness. Brambly cassis flavors with eucalyptus and menthol. Nice acidity and no hints of alcohol. Firm but unobtrusive tannins. This is just perfectly balanced.

May 22, 2020 - Just a lovely Napa cab with great depth and complexity. Still quite youthful with soft tannins and long finish. Certainly in a prime drinking window.

December 25, 2019 - My first of two drank with grilled beef tenderloin. Delicious mature cab. Concentrated dark fruit, licorice, smoke and earthy notes . Good secondary development. Well integrated flavors. Plenty of stuffing to go at least 3-5 more years.

May 25, 2018 - At home with burgers. After a visit with the vintners, purchased this and a number of vintages from their library. Have not checked in on this vintage in recent years. PnP, drank over 2+ hours.

Bright, opaque purple, no separation. Nose of blackberry, violets, mineral, fennel(?). Palate showing black cherry, dark berries, cassis licorice, chocolate. Secondary floral notes, rich texture throughout. Full bodied and long finish.

Would have guessed a much younger wine if tasted blind. Tannins still present, starting to resolve...Great now but should have another 10+ years if wanting to cellar. I have been a big fan of Lail's J Daniel Cuvee, this one is a great example of how well made and age worthy the wine is. WIll be interesting to see this wine continue to evolve 94+

December 24, 2016 - Amazing. Hands down. Simply terrific. Impeccably balanced, great fruit, tasty tannins, enough acidity to pair with food. I can't say enough!
