February 8, 2020 - Garnet/Purple, fading to pink with hints of orange toward the rim. Medium legs. Understated aromas: blackberry, black cherry, cedar, light toast and vanilla. On the palate, distinct dust and mushroom join in. Medium body, narrow texture, below-medium acidity, medium finish. Impression: Not your typical Zinfandel; no jam, not rich nor "plush". Subtle, understated, yet pleasant. At $16, QPR below average. A good example of wine not quite varietally correct, yet decent. Drink now.

February 3, 2020 - Not much evolution form the last time I tried it. Minimal complexity and fruit, but this bottle didn't seem in decline, just an average bottle. 85-87

July 15, 2017 - A lighter and spicy/herbal in which was ready to go after a 30-60 min decant. Better than expected based on the price, but that seems to be the Navarre way.

June 22, 2017 - Given the other comments, surprisingly fruity and rich. Lots of flowers, red fruit, reasonable balance, and seemed much warmer than I expected from Mendocino. Tasty and enjoyable but not what I was hoping for - which was a lighter, more nuanced and spicy/herbal Zin.

March 22, 2017 - This was pinot noir color (not good). Tasted thin and dry. After 30 minutes, I drank this with food. Hint, that's a good idea. This isn't a sipping wine. FYI, the '13 Card from BerserkerDay was awesome. Check my note.

February 22, 2017 - Really nice Zin here. As mentioned by others on this wine. There is a delicateness to the wine. Light but not insipid. Really pretty. Nice red color in the glass. Floral notes, red fruit. Med bodied on the palate and flat out tasty. From front to back this was a joy to drink with no real holes. med+ finish with great balance. While not terribly complex, this is definitely worth the $20 tariff.
