    April 9, 2019 - Day 2:
Light green color. The aroma has developed quite a lot since yestderday. Tropical fruit, hints of honey, apple and some minerals.
Much more present acitity and citrus in the finish on day 2. Still very young.

February 24, 2019 - Smoke em if you got em. The lean vintage is not gonna let this go much longer. Great mineral energy, tension is pretty resolved and does get tired as it opens up. Pop and slam. Delicious drink though.

March 3, 2018 - Pichler and Hirtzberger (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Lots of lemon, grapefruit and minerals on the nose. Stony and dusty and mineral-driven on the palate, dry and brisk and doused in lemon and slate and sea salt. Delicious stuff that should evolve so nicely.

October 10, 2017 - Dry and crisp. Notes of citrus, tree fruits, minerals. Medium bodied with good acidity. Pair with freshwater fish - we made the very famous Hungarian fish soup, halászlé!

June 4, 2017 - I was happy to find this bottle at a reasonable price from this absolute top shelf producer, but it did not live up to expectations even for a Federspiel. The wine displays a very nice yellow straw color indicating some decent skin contact and complexity. But it falls a bit short on the palate - nice notes of lemon custard and spiced tea but I found the acidity to be a bit overwhelming even taking into account the relatively young age. Finish was just medium, some pleasant citrusy notes with a bit of candied fruit to make it a bit interesting. Perhaps my expectations are just too high given how much I like this producer. A good buy for the money but doesn't fully represent what Hirtzberger is able to do elsewhere.
