January 17, 2017 - This bottle still seemed pretty young. Black cherry, plum, iodine, wet earth, forest vegetation, a little cranberry, and a hint of bacon fat on the nose. Black and red cherry, earth, spice, plum, and minerals on the palate. Decent acidity, nice earthy aftertaste, mostly integrated tannins. At once modern and forward and also a bit light in mid-palate to finish. Hard to complain at $20.

August 20, 2013 - Great, humble burgundy character of complex-ish cherry and blackberry fruit and an earthy (but clean) undertone, good energy and interest. Quite delicious.

March 22, 2013 - Cherries with some hint of earthiness and spice on the finish. Pretty bland the first night but improves on the second night when it shows more juicy component. not a re-buy but decent wine overall. 87-88

March 12, 2013 - Pop and pour and followed for several hours. Starts with cocoa powder, blackberry, clove, earth. Red cherry, earth, black cherry, spice on the palate. Finishes a touch bitter. Alcohol almost pokes through, even though its only 12.5%. After a few hours, blackberry, graphite, black cherry, wet earth, red cherry on the nose. Cherry, blackberry, earth, spice, tart cherry on the palate. Good acidity and good finish. Overall, this seems like it needs some time. I liked it more a year ago.

January 24, 2013 - Have had the 07,08 and now the 09 Montre Cul from Bouvier. Unfortunately it has been downhill form the first wine which I actually liked. This doesn't make sense if you believe in the vintage reports. I'm just not a fan of Bouvier's Montre Cul and won't buy again. Too much tannin on the finish? I'm not sure there is enough in this wine for it to age either.

Honestly, I opened this bottle based on the cellar tracker drinking window. Maybe it would be better if I had waited? I guess I'm still trying to figure out Burgundy. I think this wine represents a entry level Burgundy hopeful, that just doesn't deliver. I'll save half for tomorrow, and if it's better I'll update the review. At this point, I'm not going to buy anymore when I'm at Kermit's store.

December 23, 2012 - Tight pinot fruit at first taste ends in a smooth lightly tannic finish. Not terribly complex but a delicious drink that I will try again in 2 years.

July 10, 2011 - Enjoyed last night with pizza from the wood fired oven. Pleasant with great mouthfeel and a
    cherry taste at times.

June 28, 2011 - This is appealing, with an initial nose of alfalfa and the barnyard and a mineral taste. It grows with a sense of cherry, licorice and cinnamon. The fruit sense is modest and not overwhelming, and I appreciated that. I felt some bits of jam, cloves and chocolate at the end, but its a subtle ending, rather than an explosion. I would imagine this being good with milder foods, where it doesn't have to compete for attention. Its a Kermit Lynch Import and I felt it was a good QPR.
