March 31, 2019 - Great smooth wine had it with Vice Versa Las Piedras BBS which as a comparison was so much better

July 19, 2017 - Big bold wine with dark fruit with hints of mint coming through. Impenetrable at the moment and stern in the palate. This wine will require plenty of aging to open up. I prefer the more perfumed profile of its Spring Mountain sibling, as Mt Veeder is a hotter site missing some of the cool breezes from the coast.
Tasted at the estate in a horizontal-vertical of Spring Mt and Mt Veeder 2007 and 2013.

January 20, 2017 - Winter in Wineland; 1/14/2017-1/20/2017 (Sonoma & Napa): The big brother of the tasting. It's just a bit more tannin, blackberry compote, stronger structure, coffee grinds, a bit of a the drying notes. Totally ripe and missing all of the greenness which I associate with Veeder and even really like about Veeder, but it's ok. This wine is still beautiful and it's changing and evolving in the glass constantly. Really good.

November 19, 2016 - Napa Valley Master Class with Robert Parker; 11/10/2016-11/20/2016 (Napa Valley): During a tasting session at Lokoya with the winemaker and commercial director. Expressive nose of dark fruit, lots of cassis, some smoke and meat. Big and bold wine here as well. Entry on the palate is great but then it starts drying out with the masses of tannins. Aroma: 97, Tannin: 93
PS: My summary for Lokoya is: The wines are really characterful and aromatic but the tannins are too rustic and lead to a drying finish of almost all the wines. Can they soften enough with time is the question.
