    April 6, 2024 - NOT blind.

This improved with time. After an hour the tannins came through nicely. 8/10

Light fruit with some bark and lightly woody.

Looks like a definite improvement on my previous bottle.

July 27, 2020 - Probably not worth the price, but a pretty good wine. Bluebery with leather and tobacco, with a hint of asparagus.

    February 15, 2020 - 2006, 2009, 2011 are the best, in that order!

February 27, 2017 - When I poured this, I was very concerned about the brown edges -- definitely beyond what I would expect for an '06. The nose shows herbal. Eucalyptus, tobacco, with some black fruit behind. The palate shows surprising tannic structure, and nice prominent and refreshing acids, with a decent amount of black cassis, black cherry, and licorice. Finishes tannic with an aged note. In an odd place right now -- a wine that is not aging that gracefully trying to show younger than it is.

October 7, 2016 - Smells of black currant and cherry and taste like it too with spicy earth. Bell Pepper? Still quite tannic. Texture is medium. Nice tart acidity.

From my experience it drinks like a Chappellet Signature Cab or around that level. For a 2006 it's still somewhat austere but would easily accompany a steak or similar meal.

I was hoping this would be something like Joseph Phelps Insignia or Dominus but I'm not sure what vineyard/winery it is. All we can do is guess.

Since it's around 68-75 bucks, I highly recommend Snowden Brothers if you want killer Quality to Price ratio. It's more textured and dense than this although the Black Currants are shining through in this one.
