October 25, 2017 - Red and dark berries and some peppery notes on the nose. Light to medium bodied, very smooth with gentle tannins, showing some ripe dark and red berries with a gentle earthy aspect. Good basic food wine. Had a glass at Birrificio.

September 8, 2017 - Thin and tart. Nothing special. Better options at this price point that have better complexity and body.

August 7, 2017 - Consumed over 3 days and enjoyed this much better than the first bottle. I think this improves with air and should not be served too cold from the wine fridge - as the bottle was opened day 2 and 3 started to show much more depth in the flavors - rather than a lighter bodied fruit forward red - the bacon fat, smoked meats and iron flavors started to come out to play. Darn for this price - must buy more.

July 13, 2017 - Tried to buy the '15 Texier Cote Rotie from the Chambers St offer, but was too late and ended up with these. Light bodied, red fruit, good acidity easy drinking and not too complex but for $14 this is very good value.

June 17, 2017 - After reading about this wine in the New York Times, I was anxious to try it. It is indeed a refreshing, light, easy drinking summery sort of wine. Given the lack of complexity here I'm surprised people seem to embrace it so; for me, it's not necessarily any better than a number of other light bodied French reds, like Les Hérétiques. But I do often like wines of this type, and "the cat" will definitely be one I'd go back to when I'm in that type of wine mood.
