November 23, 2019 - Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): At the Borgogno tasting room. We did a horizontal of the single crus from 2014 (Fossati, Cannubi and Liste). This was my second favorite of the single crus - sitting somewhere between the more elegant Fossati and the very structured Liste. I think this will need more time than Fossati and would not open this for another 10 years.

November 23, 2019 - Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Part of their grand crus tasting but again the best of the wines always go into the Riserva so this is separate. Very fresh tasting. Lots of the minerals and a bit of the truffle here. More of the earthy notes than the Fossati. Just a hint of fruit. This is the most famous vineyard and meant to be the best, but it's somehow just a bit inbetween the two and as a result I found myself going back to the extremes more.

June 18, 2019 - Barolo tasting @Borgogno no 3: Single vineyard with very high quality yields. Perfect balance between the structured dry tannic notes of the Classic and lighter fruitiness of the Fossati single vineyard. For me the most balanced one so far. Lovely complexity, dark chocolate bitterness as well. Good stuff. Looking forward to trying the 2013 vintage I bought
