April 21, 2019 - I am confused....I purchased two lots of 6 bottles within one year from the same retailer. This last bottle is where I expected this wine to be....tannic, fruit restrained and a long life ahead of it. My comment 3 months ago was the exact opposite (wine fading, drink now). I am not sure if this is bottle variation or 6 improperly stored bottles, prior to reaching my cellar, but there is a massive difference here. Judging by some prior comments, I am led to believe that 6 of my bottles were not shipped/stored well....

March 17, 2019 - Still very dark red/black in colour. Very closed on day 1 but opened up beautifully on day 2 when it was absolutely delicious. Probably a bit too early to drink, so will keep my remaining five bottles for quite a while yet.

February 1, 2019 - 91-93, but this wine is decade(s) young so I hold off on a score. Double decant with extended slow o. Wine offered nothing. Nose so closed, a little balsamic reduction is all I get after some aggressive swirling. A wall on the palate. Aggressive swirling required to unlock a little fruit to taste, on the darker spectrum with still heavy tannin that needs a decade more to unfurl. I get the sense this is a well made wine, with balanced dense fruit (leaning slightly sweet/baked fruit) and freshness. But this wine was a wall, and all I can do is speculate. Someone on the table suggested 15+ years needed...

January 20, 2019 - Loads of sweet Tobacco, leather and dark fruits. Power and elegans in great combination. On the palate full bodied, firm tannin that will last a long time, dark fruits, Clean fruit, nice cassis-feeling, also very elegant, Lovely!

January 14, 2019 - Drank again from the same restaurant and as others have pointed out, wasn't great at first, but after a few hours it started to come alive and was very nice again. NEEDS A DECANT!

(Calon-Segur) This showed not so great. Nose of redcurrants, peppercorns and stones. Not too expressive. Ripe, juicy and bright with some nice dense fruit and dark berr flavors. Huge tannins but sneaky length indicates greatness in the future but not today.
