April 30, 2017 - Spanish Wines (Liz's House): Drank a small pour at a tasting. Very forgettable. Not much going on. Dull. Here is a good example that you have to consider the source when monikers like "Gran Reserva" are used.
January 28, 2017 - Medium body, round
September 16, 2016 - I think this is wine is very good. Well balanced, good after taste, and pleasant aroma.
September 5, 2016 - First thing we noticed is that it is very dark...much darker than many Rioja reservas. Solid nose and taste profile, with a pleasant medium-long finish. That being said, the crianza (2011) from this producer is much tastier and represents Rioja well. I see no reason to pay extra for the reserva.
August 7, 2016 - Good smooth wine .
June 11, 2016 - Bold, dark red color with dark cherry and plum on the nose.
Intensely tannic - tongue turns into sandpaper. If it wasn't for this, I'd like it much more. Good fruit power in the taste, but also a bit sour.
The finish is pleasant and long.
June 10, 2016 - Not bad but I've had better Rioja wines
April 19, 2016 - A bit too much oak, but it helped bring these nice chocolate/coffee undertones. Not sure how this is going to develop, but really enjoyable right now.
March 5, 2016 - My first bottle from this vintage, it really shines. Good use of both American and French oak, and tight tannins. Lay it down for about 5 years and it should really shine.
January 31, 2016 - Great representation of the 2010 vintage. P&P and beautiful dark crimson poured into glass with nice cigar & dark cherry spice on the nose. Several layers of pure red & dark fruits unwrapped as it opened and evolved over the course of the night, all framed by integrated tannins & acidity... and long luscious finish. This rocks now and will undoubtedly have years of enjoyment ahead.
