December 19, 2021 - Beef Paprikash. An old recipe that we’ve made dozens of times. Tried and true. Sirloin tip roast was on sale. We splurged and had yolk-free noodles

2010 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino Campigli Vallone Riserva, DOCG, alc 14.5%
Decanted 2 hrs Silky robe with ruby color. Nice cherry fruit with a hint of leather and mocha. Moderate intensity with good balance. Fairly resolved tannins. Probably should get to this earlier rather than later. Food friendly
Did well with the spicy paprikash

June 12, 2021 - The edges are well rounded now and this is in a great spot. Italian barnyard, cherry and red fruit, leather taste with smoothed out tannins. Had a relatively short finish at first but with some time and air the finish evolved into a longer very pleasant finish.

August 14, 2020 - Very enjoyable! Great bottle of wine. Smooth soft tannins. Decanted 2 hours.

April 27, 2020 - In inferoor Riserva from a great vintage. Incredibly one dimensional with a sweetish after taste. What was there was fine, but this in no way stands side by side with a good Riserva. Very disappointing. Even after decanting while the nose improved and showed something more, the taste remained the same three hours later. Not a candidate for long term cellaring.
