November 4, 2023 - My favorite vineyard for Syrah, Page Nord. This wine is 19 years old and is singing. The fruit has softened but has integrated with the tannins to show a wine of great structure and taste. Drink with confidence!

July 28, 2018 - Took around 15 minutes to come together. Great BBQ flavors-bacon, grilled meats, dark plum fruits. This was a treat. But this is probably slightly past prime so don't wait

July 18, 2016 - I won this bottle in a Behrens tasting lot from K&L. I was a bit skeptical because of the odd label, but this was immediately a bit of a wow from the nose. I think because of the age this wine has likely lost some of its backbone, but it's very complex and very flavorful. It for sure has that inky purple color of Syrah. The nose is a little spicy, but more fruity now.

The flavor is very rich, but it's not as punchy as more youthful wines. Would recommend drinking sooner than later. Very cool to have drunk a 12 year old Syrah!

June 12, 2015 - Phenomenal wine, restaurant didn't have a decanter (and they advertise as a wine bar!) so popped and poured and drank side by side with a 2006 Saxum James Berry and everyone agreed this wine was their favorite. Ripe blueberries and sweet blackberry compote on a long 45-60 second finish. Unfortunately the wine continued to open up and the best sip was the last! CT community says drink by 2015 but I think this wine could easily go another 1-2 years.
