March 15, 2024 - Perfect balance of fruit & development. Soft grippy tannins, huge Pauillac nose & long finish.
March 12, 2024 - 92 = middle of the excellent bracket. 13% abv and it feels quite light on the palate. (Edit - takes on slightly more mouthfeel after about 1 hour in the glass). Very slight brick change in colour but essentially still ruby. This possible indication of tertiary development (or lack thereof) follows through on the palate. This is not a massive wine that the 2005 vintage produced elsewhere. This is fruity, medium bodied, very pleasant. Drink now or hold, probably not for super-long term cellaring given its relatively light weight.

March 1, 2024 - Intakte Farbe, mittlere Dichte. Die Nase ist deutlich von Tabak und Zedernholz geprägt, die Frucht ist nur noch sehr moderat vorhanden, etwas Kirsche, Cassis. Im Gaumen auf den Punkt gereift, abgeschmolzene Tannine, gute Säurestruktur, die Frucht zeigt sich hier noch stärker, als die Nase vermuten lässt. Mittellanger Abgang, Zedern und Tabak im Rückaroma. Braucht keine weitere Reife mehr, dürfte dieses Niveau wohl noch 5-10 Jahre halten. Jetzt bis 2030+ geniessen.
January 20, 2024 - Perfect closure. Vibrant garnet with narrow clear rim. Slight bricking up around the edge. Leather and blackberry nose. Well resolved palate - tannins now softened and silky smooth. Fruit is a dilute black fruit - nice soft finish although perhaps a little hollowed out for this bottle at least.
January 20, 2024 - Awesome! What to say, typical classic 05 Pauillac in a very good maturity stage. Tertiary about to emerge. Smooth, strong, fruity and perfect with Roastbeef! Lovely!
December 29, 2023 - Opaque core, bricking at rim; cedar & ‘warm’ fruit, well-mannered; supple; tertiary notes, medium bodied; good grip on finish. Proper claret.
December 17, 2023 - Very good, and mature without being over the top. Probably best to serve with simpler food, it was rather outflanked by a very hearty cassoulet.
November 21, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours.
November 11, 2023 - Decanted for more than 3 hours before dinner. Very good match with the food, pretty much what you would expect of this one, without a big “wow” either, but nicely done.
