    March 26, 2024 - Marvelous nose ... black fruit,dark chocolate,hints of truffle,tobacco leaves,spices,graphite.Full-bodied,rich,thick palate,excellent depth and insane concentration.Perfectly proportioned,very long and with perfect amount of acidity.5 years ago it was more hedonistic,now it's more on the intellectual side.I liked it more on its hedonistic side.But it may just be in a dump phase.

    November 23, 2023 - Pnp; fairly tight nose at first; ruby with only slight rimming; medium bodied with silky smooth tannins, dark berries, dark chocolate, gradually sweetening over about 2 hours with added notes of spices, subtle sous bois, some red berry, lasting dry finish; drank side by side with Kapcsandy Roberta’s Reserve and thiugh it started out slower, caught up by the end; looks to have years ahead of it; a decant in order, maybe an hour; fabulous with elk, antelope and duck;

    April 3, 2023 - From Magnum. Red and blue fruits, yellow tobbacco leaves, spice box scents, followed by a reasonnably concentrated mouth, surprisingly lifted and fresh, ending in a long chalky finish. I was expecting more power and concentration for the vintage. This beautiful wine, a peculiar character in St Emilion, will continue to age well. I loved it.

    January 29, 2023 - A little pruney on opening but blew off in ~15 mins. 2 hour decant mellowed it out to a well integrated wine with lots of acids, primary merlot-driven red fruit and earthy notes. We enjoyed this, but it seemed a little simple.

    December 31, 2022 - Powerful aromas of creme de cassis, black raspberries, licorice, truffles and incense. Still tasting young, with dense yet vibrant, juicy fruit and prominent tannins. It was a bit of a battle between the fruit and the drying effect of the tannins, but eventually the fruit prevailed and the tannins provided a nice supporting structure. Delicious now, but it still felt like it has years to go to full maturity.

    November 26, 2022 - Perfect cork and level.
    The moment you pull out the cork you know you are in for a truly special Wine.
    There is no need to decant here. The nose is absolutely knock out: cherry liqueur, cherry blossom, Piedmont truffle, pipe tobacco, melting asphalt, road dust after the rain - you name it!
    Outstanding, incredible, unbelievable concentration of perfectly ripe black cherries, truffles, mineral, dark chocolate and I don’t know what else on the palate. Super concentrated yet almost weightless on the palate. The finish lasts forever, definitely more than a minute.
    Rich and almost sweet the wine remains bone dry- the thing you can only encounter in the best of the best French wines.
    Hands down the greatest mono varietal Merlot I have tasted in my life.
    If this particular bottle is representative of this wine , Tertre Roteboeuf is definitely cream of the crop in the World of Wines.

    June 13, 2022 - Majestic. Decanted for 2 hours, but quite possibly did not need it. An explosive essence of Merlot. Fruit, body, extreme length, completely balanced. Simply stunning, and justifies that seemingly endless search for wonderful, as opposed to 'just' very good, wines. Will last for many years more. A privilege to drink it: I have not tasted a better 05.

    April 14, 2021 - 17:10 - Opened bottle
    At first glance, the wine is a dark Ruby colour with a strong fragrant of cassis and dark berries but it’s evident the wine requires time to breath.

    17:40 - The wine opened up more with increasing signs of blackcurrant on the nose. Velvety finish on the palate with good level of tannins.

    20:15 - The wine has smells great bursting with blackcurrant, tobacco and cassis notes. Texture has become more velvety.

    21:15 - The irresistible aromas of dark fruits and jam has finally fully awaken and it the taste resembles candied blackcurrants gummies with a velvety and smooth finish.
