    September 15, 2019 - 85% Cabernet Sauvignon; 14% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very intense nose, picks up weight in the glass immediately. Big and pretty ripe already, full attaque but not completely wowed!

    August 3, 2019 - Great ... but closed by tight tannins despite 3 hour decant. Not hard blunt tannins, just tight. Shielding the glorious fruit underneath. Will be spectacular in 10 years for sure but I’ll try my next bottle in 4-5 years.

    June 12, 2019 - Wine Group Dinner #169 - 2005 Bordeaux Part 2 (Urbane Restaurant, Brisbane): Wine Group Dinner #169, Urbane Restaurant. The first of the Firsts tonight the Mouton was a dense crimson colour with a nose of very ripe blackcurrant, blueberries, dark plums and touches of exotic spice and cedar. The palate has that touch of exoticism and plenty of black fruit with touches of dark chocolate leading into a wall of fine, long tannins on the finish. A very good wine with more to reveal as it evolves.

    June 12, 2019 - Fairly focused, although a bit loose overall. Fruit isn’t too ripe or complete despite the long palate, not to mention everything else that did not bind together. One should hope it is an off bottle. 92+

    May 18, 2019 - I dont think we let is open up enough while drinking this. Still a great wine with amazing lingering flavor. Drank this with KOBE filet and it might have been too much fat with this wine which made it seemed closed off a little.. still has more time for sure though!

    April 24, 2019 - Very dark garnet color, fine nose, balance throughout, elegant and caressing flavor and nuanced finish. A great bordeaux in its prime, served and thoroughly enjoyed at an April 23 luncheon at the French Institute / Alliance Francaise in NYC, with remarks from Philippe Sereys de Rothschild of Mouton Rothschild, Philippe de Montebello (Director Emeritus of the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and Catherine Pegard of Versailles.

    April 10, 2019 - Dark as hell. Needing five hours to develop its masculine aromas of blackberries, coffee bean, currants, garrigue or sandalwood. All presented in an elegant way. Multilayered and almost aristocratic.
    On the palate is the same story. Chocolatey. Pure velvet. Delicious. Dense, meaty, opulent with a good length.
    Only because that acidity low level I've some doubts about its future. A very Mouton bottle. Two more bottles remaining.

    Oscuro como el infierno. Se necesitan cinco horas para desarrollar sus aromas masculinos de moras, pepitas de café, grosellas, garriga o sándalo. Todo presentado de una manera elegante. Múltiples y casi aristocráticas capas.
    En boca es la misma historia. Chocolateado. Terciopelo auténtico. Delicioso. Denso, carnoso, opulento, con una buena longitud.
    Solo por esa acidez de bajo nivel tengo algunas dudas sobre su futuro. Una botella muy Mouton. Dos botellas más en reserva.

    February 22, 2019 - To me Mouton is like Liverpool football Club. When they play well they are amongst the greatest. When they play poorly, then they make a shambles.
    Same with Mouton vintages and the 05 shone like a star.
    Deep blackish crimson color, had 4 glasses with Coravin so no proper decanting.
    The nose earthy black and dark red fruits, terroir screaming with joy, pencil lead and pepper.
    On the palate dense on entry, voluptuous power that takes over the palate and coats it with fruit and great acidity. Long bitter chocolate finish for this poetically beautiful and powerful wine. Outstanding.
