January 14, 2023 - Tasting at Max Bordeaux. Nose is muted but with meat juices, light bell peppers and lots of terroir. I like it’s balance. Feels elegant but still tannic. Feels very restrained and light. The finish is lighter but tannins are well integrated. So far all the 2005 I’ve tasted are beautifully balanced. And this one isn’t exception. Of today’s 4, It feels like the most balanced of the group thus far. Until I had the 2000 Ausone right after. 92.

December 11, 2022 - A month off; 12/10/2022-1/5/2023 (Dubai Sydney Canberra): Everything it should be. Red/black. Aroma of pencil lead, cedar, blackberries. Flavours of blackcurrant, lots of oak, spices (ginger and cinnamon), touch of mint. I just think it is 30 years too young. 1970 Batailley tastes like this in a more mellow way. 92 trending 97 eventually.

November 5, 2022 - Very much on the fruit side, cherry, plums with hints of vanilla, some truffles. Very rich and full. Nice fruity sweetness.

October 16, 2022 - Very good, oak, dark fruit, some savoury notes as well. Still quite a lot of tannins so will last for another while.

August 13, 2022 - Simply beautiful. Decanted approximately 75 minutes and paired with a sous vide prime filet mignon. Translucent dark red color with aromas of dark red fruits and a little baking spice. Upon sipping, medium body with soft red fruits and some earthy undertones in the mouth with a soft, lush finish. Red berries throughout. This is just lovely.
