  February 1, 2024 - Still deep and dark red color at almost 19 years. No longer jammy fruited. Opened, poured out a few ounces and let sit a few hours. Some complexity on palate after some more time in glass. Kept changing with each pour. Drying tannins, a little graphite, balanced, smooth and layered. But I would not call it elegant. A good steak wine.

  January 25, 2024 - A little more than 2 years since my last bottle (a 92) and with all the controversy about the '05 Bdxs I felt compelled to try one tonight with a nice grilled hanger steak, plus Carol was basically forcing me to cook a hanger steak, and she's not even drinking wine these days......lol.
  
  Decanted for two hours then put back into to the bottle no cork so it slow ox'd for another 1-2 before dinner. Enjoyed for a total of 4 hours of air. Dark garnet in the glass, no hint of bricking or aging in any way. Early on there was quite a bit of fruit on the nose along with the graphite, leather and some cigar box and oh so slight mushroom component. I could have easily enjoyed the entire bottle before dinner but paced myself by only having half. This is so well integrated right now.....there's just the right amount of softness to it, yet perfectly matched acidity and red plummy fruit entering its tertiary phase. There is no hurry with these at all. They will go for quite a while yet and if you like a nice red fruited aged, dry Bdx, you will like this. Especially with a meal. This bottle borders on a 95 for me, personally, but maybe that's just my Bdx palate?

  October 8, 2023 - Absolutely stunning. Opened the bottle four hours in advance. Decanted an hour and a half before serving. Even with all that time, bright fruit, velvety texture, gentle secondary aromatics. Leather and tobacco
  
  After some time, mint, chocolate, graphite, so soft. Gorgeous wine.
  
  Tannins and acid are beautifully balanced. But this wine has such complexity and structure that it could evolve for a long time to come!

  August 19, 2023 - A quite youthful appearance. Lovely sweet dark-fruited nose with slate, iodine, anise, plum, and hints of mocha and cedar. Plush entry through the mid-palate, this is a medium bodied wine with nice fruit, decent lift and a modest finish. Will not be mistaken for the very best vintages of this producer but is very enjoyable in its own right. May improve further with mid-term cellaring.
