August 9, 2017 - A bit of oxidation made this bottle unattractive.

June 11, 2017 - If you like Chablis and you like your wine flinty and sharp it is hard to beat Raveneau. This wine showed beautifully, slightly acidic with grapefuit, citrus tones. Nice finish that left the palate totally cleansed. Great with Oysters!

April 27, 2017 - It started out quite lively and aromatic but unfortunately broadened out and became softer as it warmed. Lacks the cut and precision I expect from Chablis, especially Raveneau.

March 11, 2017 - Paulee. Very lean and finishes savory.

  • HowardNZ Likes this wine:

August 12, 2016 - Nick's four wine pairs: The golden colour of the wine hinted at the age. On the bouquet, burnt toffee, smoke, green apples, wet marble, lemons and as touch of Époisses. Chalk on the palate, dry and tactile. Appropriately oxed, just a small hint of maderisation. Beeswax, orange zest, lemons, limes and grape skins with slatey minerality and chalk in the background. Excellent piercing acidity, but still the fruit volume to match. Great length. Two days later, from the fridge, it was steelier, dryer seeming and more mineral, with no hint of falling over. There's easily another 5-10 years here. Grand Cru quality Chablis.

(Raveneau Monte de Tonnere) This also seemed pretty approachable. Aromas of minerals, key lime pie, butterscotch but the overwhelming aromas was of mineral. Really fat on the palate with great precision. Silky yet acidic at the same time if that makes any sense.
