March 31, 2019 - Slow ox'ed 12 hours. Deep, rich, and... partially closed. The fruit is hiding behind a wall of mocha and wood notes. an impressive wine to be sure, just not its time.

February 17, 2019 - Loving this wine. It’s been great to drink taste over the last five years and just keeps getting better. I don’t think it has hit its plateau but after a 1 to 2 hour decant it’s really impressive. Still has the fruit, tannins and balance to continue to improve but it’s excellent now. Medium to medium full body fine tannins and just starting to get the tertiary flavors and just a wonderful Bordeaux

February 8, 2019 - One year rafter my last bottle, this was was even MORE backward. It was crazy. When I opened it, I gave it three hours and I thought it was cooked. It was shrill, portish and with an ashy finish. (Insert sad emoji here.) But I sealed it and popped it the next day and it was like a different wine. It's freaking delicious. I think it might last forever.

January 11, 2019 - Opened and decanted this dark Garnet wine for an hour, then sampled over the next 3 hours. At first a very reticent nose, but with a bit of time there were aromas of leather, dark cassis, mineral, and a bit of Eucalyptus/Mint. The palate had muted acidity, dark red fruit, wet stones, a touch of iodine, and a hint of green pepper on the finish. A very subtle wine that I think will get better and better with time. Great stuff!

(Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan) A more reserved style, more dusty, but still ripe. Very pure, polished fruit. Elegant, raspberries and other red fruits. Rich though, a touch smoky too. Very full substance on entry, but pure and polished, very linear. Finely rounded and harmonious, with really fine-grained tannins and lovely, intense central fruit. Very complete. Impressive wine.

(Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan) Exuberant fruit on the nose here, with a nutty edge. The palate follows on nicely from this unassuming start, with a layer of pure, rather crunchy, blackcurrant and cranberry fruit which is very well framed, very precise and complete. The fruit and texture cover very nicely the firm, tannic backbone and the grip of ripe tannins only becomes apparent at the end. This has lovely potential.
