March 30, 2024 - Even 6 hours in the decanter didn’t do it. It’s just young and need further cellaring. Lots of promise though. Muted and hidden fruit, cassis, cedar, chocolate, leather...all the classics. Tannins are plentiful.
February 18, 2024 - Confirms previous adulatory notes. Now comfortably on its plateau of maturity, with time in hand. Nose is open for business, perfectly classical Graves profile (cassis, cedar, tobacco, warm brickes); elegant and structured but charming and silky palate, energetic and with perfect weight, sandy tannins; very good resonance and length on the finish. Stylish claret, right up my street.
January 17, 2024 - Ouvert pour accompagner le 1966.
Un peu de café au nez, cuir et fruit noir. La bouche est droite et très classique, de bonne fraicheur. Encore jeune et primaire, mais très bien fait et promis à un bel avenir. 92+ pts
January 12, 2024 - SUPERBE encore une fois!
Sur son plateau je dirais en ce moment.
Super souple et somptueux.
Sur les cerises noires et le cèdre avec
des saveurs de terre et de chocolat.
Les tannins sont fins et granuleux
et la finale bien longue et toute en volupté.
EXCELLENT comme toujours ce grand millésime.
January 11, 2024 - Not ready. I've had some luck with 2005s and I'd hoped 3 hours in a decanter would be enough to get the wine to open up. The wine is open enough to not punish you but not so open to give a lot of pleasure. 5 more years, I'd think.
January 10, 2024 - Burgund '21 + moden vin (Centropa, Oslo, Norway): Dyp mørk og ungdommelig farge. Sødmefull duft av solbær og sigarkasse, og blindt gikk de fleste til Médoc/St.Julien eller Pauillac. Stramt anslag med rik, sødmefull frukt, men dette er fortsatt tight - tross snart 20 års alder. Stor kraft og konsentrasjon og flott bærpreg av solbær. Lang smakskurve med ganske stram tanninstruktur og flott syre. Svært holdbar stil.
January 5, 2024 - Delicious. Nice red berry notes, cassis, medium acidity, medium tannins. Still a bit juicy feeling, but drying fruit as well. Cedar, spices, graphite. Nicely balanced. Last bottle.
December 30, 2023 - Deeper colour than the 2000 vintage alongside it. Deeper fruit also, and considerably less well developed. There is nothing too rough and unready at the moment, but it's lacking in harmony, length and not least elegance. Again particularly compared to the 2000. However, the potential is considerable. (Decanted about two hours)
December 28, 2023 - Lighter fruit aromas than in a 2000 tasted same evening, but more vanilla. Also more elegant and less tertiary than the 2000. Needs more time in the cellar.
December 25, 2023 - Light Bordeaux. Quite good
