December 10, 2022 - Pnp. Lemony to start. Strong bitter, pithy, grapefruit finish. Was a suitable accompaniment to chicken stew with lemon, olives, and capers.
February 14, 2022 - This bottle was definitely over the hill - lots of baked apple, some citrus but done.
February 3, 2022 - Nothing special . Drink.
February 12, 2021 - Another in a long line of 2014 Chablis that can do no wrong. Some initial reduction blows off to reveal chalky, mineral-laden orchard fruits. Rich and juicy with crunchy cut. Long clean finish. In a good spot with no signs of letting up. Holds up strong over three days.
January 22, 2021 - Considerably less oxidized than the bottle I opened a few months ago. Still some solid life left here.
December 28, 2020 - Very muted and something of a chemical smell a bit like maraschino cherries. Seems like an off bottle but does not have an obvious defect. So either it was a defective bottle or it’s completely dead.
November 25, 2020 - Recent notes suggest this is on the slide and I haven’t had a bottle in a couple of years. Fearing the worst, I was pleasantly surprised to find out this bottle (at least) was just fine. The green tinge is definitely gone from the color, but it’s still healthy looking. Mineral driven nose with some oyster shell and a bit of lanolin over some pear notes. While at first flabby, some grip emerged the longer it sat in the glass. Based on all of the other comments, I’ll be putting the remaining few bottles in heavy rotation.
November 23, 2020 - Tired - slight oxidative notes but all—around blah. Acidity was muted and, while improving slightly with air, was not enjoyable to drink.
November 21, 2020 - Enormous improvement with a night of air. On day 2 it was much fresher, the oxidation, diminished. On the nose - pineapple, grapefruit and apple. On the palatte - a long lingering finish and a nice mineral quality. Just need to open this stuff a day ahead of time.
November 20, 2020 - A little too oxidized? Past it’s prime.
