April 3, 2024 - Waited a decade past vintage try the first bottle, so I can’t compare this to its youth, but this was delicious: electric citrus cream and pith, light in flavor but substantial and mouth-coating in feel, with a slightly rough white-pepper and crunchy mineral finish that still tastes unresolved. Enjoyable now but also feels only half-developed, so I won’t be in a rush to get through the remaining 3 bottles.

[edit: “light in flavor” doesn’t mean “lacking in flavor,” it means the flavors were bright, airy, not ponderous, and therefore in interesting contrast to the mouthfeel, which was rich and almost oily. In other words: I meant it as a compliment.]

February 26, 2024 - My last of several bottles of this. A very good bottle of grand cru Chablis - powerful, but nothing heavy whatsoever. Aging slowly and this still has plenty of room to run.

December 4, 2023 - After a very poor showing from a previous bottle (which seems to accord with other's recent experience) my expectations were muted, but this bottle was singing! A deep, rich core of clean, pure fruit with steely acidity and chalky / limestone texture. A great bottle of Grand Cru chablis that couldn't be anything else. If only every bottle of the 14 had been this good... Given both how well this drank and how worryingly over-developed other bottles have been, I'd drink any more in the cellar, but when it's good, it's really, really good !

November 29, 2023 - Nick's 64 Goodge Street (Mainly) Burg Dinner (64 Goodge St): Medium straw. Dveloped nose, touch of wet wool, clearing a bit to become citrussy and minerally. Medium bodied, mineral, some oxidative notes but quite linear and fresh on the finish still, lovely acidity. Much more developed than the bottle I had last year - I'd be drinking through these if I had any.

November 29, 2023 - Nick's Burgundy evening at 64 Goodge Street: Much darker than the Droin, you tell immediately you are dealing with an older wine. But this is only 2014 and for a wine of this stature in this vintage shouldn't be showing this level of advancement. I cannot help thinking that this particular bottle has turned the corner and is more tired than I am comfortable with. Personally I thought there were definite hints of ox, though others around the table didn't get that. There is good structure, it is weighty and also quite pure. Towards the finish there is a baked apple character a bit like champagne. I would have liked to have tried it a year ago, perhaps more.

November 29, 2023 - Nick A's 64 Goodge Street Burgundy Dinner (64 Goodge Street, London): This feels fairly evolved for its age; faulty? Possibly but lots to like here. The nose has hints of apple pie and some Nata creaminess / nutmeginess. Pleasing acidity to the palate with some cut apple and good persistence.

June 17, 2023 - A somewhat advanced & generally less than thrilling showing...Imperfect storage could be a factor / the reason... (reading below, this could just be going through a closed phase. A couple of bottles a couple of years ago, were youthful, but much more enjoyable & showing great potential )

June 11, 2023 - Piercing and linear. Acidity component is strong but not overpowering. Seems the wood notes from other older reviews are fading. I should have ordered the fried oyster appetizer to go with it. Suspect many years left but expect a very slow evolution.

August 26, 2022 - At lunch in Marlow. No formal note. Intense, lemony, slight touch of mineral. Youthful. Linear with decent depth, crisp acids, good length finish.

May 1, 2022 - Really wrapped up tight right now. It has Grand Cru weight and density. Salinity and green apple. Some creamy textures in mid-palate. Extract. Needs time for ideal showing.
