August 9, 2021 - Neb Vinous Bring a Great Barolo (Il Buco, NYC): [Double-decanted around 10am.] Lovely nose of cherries and mulch. Beautiful in the mouth with dried cherries and tar. Nearing the end of life but still lovely to drink.

May 7, 2021 - Goodbye Dinner for a Friend Moving to Willamette (Osteria Langhe - Chicago IL): Tired with a sherry note, some thought a touch of VA as well. Apparently previous bottles were very good.

November 2, 2019 - White Truffles & Nebbiolo (Chez Nanda): Just terrific. The aromas are superb -- dried fruit, dried herb, tar and spice. The palate still has a touch of sweetness to the fruit. A subtle but nuanced finish.

November 2, 2019 - Nebbiolos, white truffles, Volume IV (Chicago, IL): This wine simply defies the vintage. The nose starts off with a fairly intense balsamic note, but it actually changes into a mix of red and black fruit and with some soil and mushroom tones as well. The palate shows a sweet cherry note that is incredibly fresh for its age, and the ripeness here is balanced by a vein of persistent acidity. The tannins are fully resolved.

March 6, 2019 - Translucent amber color, the nose is very light, the palate is fresh but at first volatile and the wine appears to be far from the classiness of the rivals from the sixties (1969 and 1964), however, with time in the glass the wine comes together, the volatility clears and the wine reveals flavours of marshmallows, elegant spices and leather all wrapped up in a light refined package, additionally, the wine gains more power although remains to be on light side, nevertheless this one is still drinking very well. If consumed stand alone, this would be a star but in the tonight's line-up ended up being the underdog of the three sixties vintages even after the volatility had cleared.
