February 8, 2019 - Much better than I had anticipated. The nose is fantastic and strong. Ready to drink now, pop n pour. Wish I had more.

April 25, 2016 - Already showing secondary notes of truffle, black cherry, smoke, espresso, earth and tobacco, the wine is full bodied, with a polish to the tannins, ending with a splash of earthy plum and licorice. This can age and improve for at least another 5-7 years, or more.

April 5, 2016 - Bordeaux (John's house): Vanilla, blueberry, oak. The mouthfeel is quite rich, and there is a fruity juiciness to it. A bit "bastardized" for Bordeaux. Fun to drink, and interesting in it is way.

April 1, 2016 - No Fools Today (Minneapolis): Very modern and reminds me of the Barnett Merlot from the same vintage. Plums, cherry, menthol, oak, vanilla and pepper. Medium to long and complex wine. Will improve with more age.

August 28, 2015 - Intense bouquet de fruits rouge, acidité on reconnaiy immediatement le typique pomerol! En bouche le tout est gras bien balancé mais léger au niveau du bois

(Chateau Providence Pomerol) Dark, meaty, savoury, beef-stocky fruit character here on the nose. But there is also a delightful lift which has the character of Cabernet Franc (which accounts for 10% of the vineyard), in that it gives a perfumed, violet-tinged, crunchy fruit element. Overall it has a meaty style and it certainly has appeal, even though there are little tinges of balsamic as well. A fairly supple palate despite the flux of complexity and meat seen on the nose, quite gently composed, elegant, but at the core rather firm tannins which will keep this wine going nicely. An elegant but structured style of Pomerol.
