September 27, 2009 - Pulled this out wondering whether a few extra years had been kind to this bottle. Poured with good color and no real sign of age, save for a little sediment. Just all over the place tonight, though, and never coming together - marginal fruit passing in and out, sometimes a little heat from the alcohol, always a bit on the tart/acidic side. None of the lovely rich blueberry and chocolate that had balanced the acidity; unfortunately, also no other bottle development either. Interestingly, it really seemed to pick up, amplify and reflect the fennel note from the rub on our roasted chicken; at least that was consistent!

This was never a bottle that made me think to myself 'ooh, this will be great in a few years', but I am surprised that it showed so poorly.
