Community Tasting Notes 4

December 13, 2023 - Macerated on the skins for six weeks (no stems). Aged in German oak barrels for 18 months (30% new). 12.5% ABV. Good mixed berry fruit, cherry, forest notes, earth, cola, light chlorine, spices, liquorice, light vanilla, wood, some smoke, and rusty iron-like mineral notes, with medium-level acidity, well-integrated tannin, and super length. The wine showed even better on day two, red fruit-driven, earthy, lightly balsamic, and smoothly textured. This medium-bodied Spätburgunder is well structured, with average to good complexity, and outstanding persistence. It benefited from aeration and started to show best after 90 minutes in the decanter. Drink or hold.

November 18, 2019 - Oak has integrated well and the slightly tart and linear plummy pinosity is delightful. Some loamy nuances. Coldness of damp earth. Good length and precision.
Not a complex wine but rather good nonetheless.

November 2, 2016 - Pretty low alcohol 12,5%. Perfect 2 hours after opening. Touch of wood, nice fruit, livey acid, decent Body and length. Still nice on day two. Well done but lacks a bit thrill to merit a higher Rating an around 34 Euros the price Level is to high

March 21, 2016 - Toasty quite a bit of new oak roughly 20%
Savoury oak, lots of oak, nicely done though, some perfume coming through
    Long finish
Needs more time for oak to integrate. Oakiness less noticeable after about half an hour
