June 11, 2017 - Decanted 3h after opening. Very deep, almost opaque colour, still. Attractive vanillic, spicy fruit on the nose. Palate very smooth, with plums, damsons, lots of spice.
6h after opening, it had all the above plus developing cherry and cherry stones, blackcurrant and blackcurrant acidity. The wine is not 'hot' to my palate, despite its high alcohol content. There is sufficient acidity and the palate persists for a long, long time.
I do not think it is on the way down (even at this age) as others suggested some years ago. It repays good storage and, most importantly, it needs time after opening to recover from time in the bottle and to begin to stretch and grow. If you have some still, give it time after decanting......
It was even better and smoother 8h after opening (with and after food). Certainly more complex - there were hints of eucalyptus and liquorice. Some of the spicy complexity reminded me of Ch. Musar (a truly great compliment).
Excellent wine with life ahead. 91+

August 14, 2011 - Very dark color, classic aussie Shiraz notes, fullbodied with a medium-long aftertaste, some residue. Still fresh and fruity. Will keep for another 5 years but is peaking now.

December 12, 2010 - Plenty of plum flavours. Some choc, some nougat, a bit of turkish delight (but not a very sweet one). Decent Shiraz. Not too fruity. Not too woody. And thank god not too sweet. From my point of view a little bit too much alc. Very down to the earth Shiraz for an acceptable price. Even in Europe.

July 16, 2010 - Sweet cola, blackcurrant and oak nose. Fairly simple but delivers on the Southern Aussie promise of big, bruising but polished shiraz. You want to get it while the fruit is still fresh so now and over the next 2-3 years or so. 88+

September 9, 2009 - Opaque purple in the glass. Ripe black fruit on the nose with some powerful oak and that old shiraz favourite of Paul S - latex. Quite a big mouthful of plums, blackberries and anise showing decent, if not quite pinpoint balance. A little tight. Surprisingly not showing too much heat noting 14.5%. Good spicy, coconutty oak comes through nicely, and not too strongly, as it dives towards a blueberries and cream finish of medium length. Excellent QPR from this £12 wine that punches a couple of divisions above its weight. It's drinking nicely with an hour or two in the decanter, but no rush. This has further to go and I'd be tempted to leave the rest for a year or two. Fantastic vintage.

June 25, 2009 - Wine Education Service - Masters of Australian Shiraz (LSE): Thick purple, opaque, minimal age.
Muted nose, distinctly understated and delicate, very attractive.
Spicy fruit with heat from the alcohol, intense and complex, full bodied, black fruits return in the finish, good length, needs a couple of years to fulfil its potential.
