September 19, 2023 - This is a pleasure bomb yet harmonious from start to finish. The 2014 Petite Sirah from Palisades Vineyard wafts up with an intense yet utterly seductive bouquet of blueberry compote, violet pastille, cool mint and a dusting of cocoa. Powerful and large-scaled yet immaculately balanced, this impresses further with its racy and mouthwatering personality, guided by zesty acidity that enlivens the tart wild berry fruits and sour citrus tones that tease the palate with cheek-picking tension. These tannins are perfectly formed, round and sweet, as the 2014 drinks beautifully already, yet in no fear of decline with a long and potent finale featuring raspberry preserves, sage and dark chocolate.

July 5, 2023 - One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. Not much aroma during decant. Still purple from bowl to rim; wine was clear. After resting: some dark fruits, bamboo, and vetiver in the nose. In the mouth, tannins were still around (probably should have waited a couple more years) but not harsh. Fruit was deep enough to handle the tannins. Fairly long finish.

May 16, 2023 - Rich fruit pudding nose and palate. This has very good balance in a large scaled wine. Tannins are chewy but well integrated in the wealth of opulent fruit. Long finish. Must be in the top tier for this producer. Well done! Drinks almost as well day 2 and 3.

April 8, 2023 - Dark color, reticent upon opening but then blackberries. From a lighter vintage...and went perfectly with the cheese course. Dark yet lighter on the palate...nice weight and broadening flavors of red and black fruits, red licorice hints, good finish. Drink now with decant for a medium weight interpretation of petite sirah. Lovely.

February 19, 2023 - This bottle was the last out of the barrel with plenty of solids. Smelled and tasted good.
