    August 31, 2016 - Translucent, developed pale ruby color. Very developed and somewhat pungent, dry nose of nuts, roasted spices, baking grease, raw meat and some madeirized estufagem notes. Very developed, quite full-bodied palate with oily mouthfeel. Rich, developed and a bit greasy flavors of bacon, ripe and sweet dark fruits, some clove spice and a hint of earth. Medium acidity, quite grippy tannins. Very long, complex and fully developed finish with rich flavors of dark cherry, earth, some leather, a hint of plummy fruit and a touch of sweet nuttiness; the aftertaste is obviously the best part of the wine.

    A wine past its peak, but still drinking quite nicely - although the nose suggests otherwise. Shows some Barolo characteristics, but is starting to venture quite deep into that anonymous old wine territory. Drink up.
