July 26, 2020 - Nice comparison tasting with 2012 Scott Harvey barbera. Both tasted better in an old-world Riedel Pinot Noir glass than the syrah style. Smooth dark fruits, soft tannins, perfect to drink now.

March 10, 2019 - Big and heavy on day 1, then moreso on day 2 and tarry alcohol on day 3. Pass.

November 28, 2018 - More tightly wound than a typical barbera, closed still. Concentrated flavor of very ripe, extracted fruit followed by a bracing mineral finish and some residual oak aroma. Overall feels a bit constructed, made to elevate this barbera to a more serious level but pushing the overall balance in the process. Needs plenty of air at this time; wait.

April 30, 2018 - Decanted for four hours. Opened up nicely. Light up front, not too fruity, medium dry finish.

March 2, 2018 - Very enjoyable. Not sure why I note a score but please understand that I am scoring in the American Way where bigger wines get higher scores. Regardless of how they are with food, "natural", or anything else.

OK, so I like it. Big fruit up front significant but supporting acidity, and the gentilest of soft tannins make this a drink now bottle, good on it's own or with food.

2011, just bought it at one of my local stores, nice bottle age and drinking perfectly. Even a bit of sediment which I like, proof the wine was not overfiltered.

5/2018 bumping my score from 89 to 91, this is simply a great bottle. Loads of fresh fruit, just enough acidity, and ultra soft tannins playing backstop. Yum!
