January 20, 2018 - Leveler Wine Tasting (Saul's House): Leveler Wine Tasting - #2 White.
Nice wine for $15. Buttery and yeast flavors. Some sea shell on the finish.

July 12, 2017 - Surprisingly good for the price. Good butter flavor, but not much mineral or citrus.

February 21, 2017 - (Day 2) - color: light yellow gold; nose: light oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, soft on palate, lychee fruit taste, medium-length finish with mineral and apple notes, mild tannins; overall: pleasant and interesting middle-of-the-oak-road chard, appealing style and structure, excellent QPR ($12.90/bottle at Costco), fully ready to drink as of Feb 2017, pour for company at happy hour or pair with frittata, mild fish, shrimp salad, etc. Will buy again!

December 16, 2016 - A nice value Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley, Frei Brothers 2014 Reserve is medium lemon yellow in the glass with a profile leaning towards tropical—papaya, ripe pear, buttered scone and baked apple tartin. The attack is round and full with moderate toast squarely at the mid-palate. A slightly short finish that adorned with toast and pencil shavings. 13.8% ABV | Sample

July 11, 2016 - Blind California Whites: Gold color. Smells of bruised apples, toasted almond, honey — you get the idea of the style. Plump and creamy on the palate, some light acidity helps. This wine is full of apricot, yellow apples, topped with nougat, cinnamon, hazelnut and butterscotch. A typical style, but it tastes good.

July 5, 2016 - I've been trolling and tasting for a case of good, but not expensive chardonnay. Many that I have tried from 2013 and 2014 have had a bitter aftertaste, for example the often recommended Bogle 2014 and Chateau Ste. Michelle 2013. The Frei was much better with some classic CA chardonnay buttery (or butterscotch as Jaguar noted) flavor, but not overwhelmingly so, and it did not have the bitter aftertaste. I bought one bottle to test and now intend to go back for a case as soon as I have time.

May 24, 2016 - This is a nice drinkable Chardonnay -- not too oaky

February 4, 2016 - A good wine but had a strong finish of butter scotch. Not Ra's favorite
