December 17, 2017 - This really excited me. Had been called on to Valli by a friend and this was a very welcome first tasting. Unsure of the percentage of whole bunch, but it is the real stand out in this. Red and black cherry, rose notes and gentle spice meld and add complexity with the whole bunch fermentation. I’m loving it in is youth and can see a solid development path from here. 93+

November 24, 2016 - Very drinkable. Lots of focus is required here because it's so easy to just guzzle this down without appreciating its sheer beauty. When taking the time to think about what you're drinking, there is cherries, bright berry flavours, cream and lively racy acidity. Enjoying this on a bright sunny spring day in Arrowtown. One of life's great pleasures.

October 9, 2016 - Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): slight wild ferment, perfumed, cherry, spice,…juicy fleshy fine tannins nice but, perhaps, lacks a little fruit.

March 10, 2016 - Wine Maker's Dinner: Burn Cottage and Valli Vineyards (Ostro Brasserie and Bar, Auckland, New Zealand): Intense and extremely focused. The product of an excellent year, this wine was vibrant and had immaculate focus. The oak was well integrated and did not feel as much a dominant part of the wine's personality as did the Valli wine made from the Lowborn fruit of Burn Cottage. Long, complete and echt Central Otago, this needs a year or two to settle down (under stelvin) and should age gracefully for a decade...

December 20, 2015 - Deep ruby, intense nose. Raspberry, plum, spice. Lush fruit with tannin and acid backing. Beautiful. Yum, but leave for a few years if you can. (93 Excellent wine)
