March 7, 2024 - another bottle of this century vintage 1982 -- what a bottle -- perfect stored -- a real stellar bottle -- youthful colour -- full bodied -- cedar - minty - sweet berry notes - WOTN - long live ahead
February 24, 2024 - Decanted 30 minutes before serving. Medium-deep garnet color. Lovely on the nose: aged leather, dried fruit, a hint of floral perfume, and some masculine old office wood. Medium body, medium acid, with fine grained tannins. Surprisingly vibrant blackberries and black currant on the palate with a nice savory mid-palate. Very sweet fruit. Lacking a bit of complexity on the palate that I'd expect given the age and vintage, but certainly enjoyable.
January 23, 2024 - Lovely bottle. At peak. Delicious and complex but nothing fussy or overdone here.
December 23, 2023 - Un grand vin,
November 10, 2023 - 6L. Classically St Emilion, vibrant, meaty, liqueur, juicy. 93
November 10, 2023 - Tasted at “A Winemaker’s Cellar” auction held by Zachy’s at Manhatta restaurant NYC - Friday 10th November 2023.
From imperial opened from Mr Hut’s collection and kindly shared.
Whereas the ‘55 Lafite and ‘82 Margaux were otherworldly, the Figeac was as if you combined 10,000 textbook mature Bordeaux wines into one perfectly archetypal bottle - this would be it - and I mean that as a compliment. It was the very definition of beautiful Bordeaux and not a hair was out of place. Beautiful.
May 17, 2023 - Menthol nose, dark and red fruit, mint chocolate, 10-15 second finish, have had better mature Bordeauxs but this is very nice (95)
May 16, 2023 - Chateau Figeac masterclass: Five decades of a St-Emilion stalwart, from 1966 tp 2016 (67 Pall Mall London): Brown-ocre color. Huge fragrant bone of saddle leather. This is in full tertiary development. Beautiful complex mature Bordeaux profile. A more complete version than the 1983 but pretty close in profile and maturity.

Beginning to fade but still wonderful
